The presentation integrates the voices from women leaders in higher education on their successes and challenges when overcoming the gender gap. Current statistics, theoretical perspectives, case studies and effective practices are explored.
Barbara Cozza, Ph.D. is a full Professor of Educational Leadership in the Department of Administrative and Instructional Leadership at St. John’s University, Queens, NY and an educational consultant.
She has experience in leadership positions as Department Chairperson, Assistant Chairperson, Director of Instructional Leadership programs, and a Multi-age School Director. She has taught in higher education and basic education systems for more than twenty- five years.
Her research targets educational reform issues in the areas of leadership, curriculum, instruction, and assessment. Recent scholarly agendas include an invitation to present a webinar on Voices of Women Leaders for the National Education Association, Washington, D.C., and presented a Symposium with co-authors at the American Research Association (AERA) in San Diego on Women Leadership.
The topic of the lecture was elaborated in the book Voices from Women Leaders on Success in Higher Education - Pipelines, Pathways, and Promotion published by Routledge.
