The following section provides an overview of the main powers of the individual structures of the Internal Quality Assurance System of the Trnava University (hereinafter referred to as the "structures of the internal system of the University") in the areas of quality assurance and evaluation of university education at the Trnava University.
The powers of individual structures of the university's internal system are regulated by:
- The Act No. 131/2002 Coll. on Higher Education Amending Certain Acts as amended (hereinafter referred to as the "the Higher Education Act");
- The Act No. 269/2018 Coll. on Quality Assurance in University Education Amending the Act No. 343/2015 Coll. on Public Procurement Amending Certain Acts as amended (hereinafter referred to as the "Quality Assurance Act");
- Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European University Education Area (hereinafter referred to as the 'European standards');
- Standards for the internal system of quality assurance of university education adopted by the Slovak Accreditation Agency for Higher Education (hereinafter referred to as the "Internal System Standards")
- Standards for the Study Programme developed by the Slovak Accreditation Agency for Higher Education (hereinafter referred to as "Standards for the Study Programme");
- Standards for habilitation procedures and procedure for the appointment of Professors adopted by the Slovak Accreditation Agency for Higher Education (hereinafter referred to as "standards for habilitation and inauguration procedures") as well as
- internal regulations of the Trnava University, in particular
- Internal Regulation within the meaning of Article 15, Section 1 (b) of the Act on Higher Education entitled Internal Quality Assurance System of the Trnava University (hereinafter referred to as the "Regulation on the University's Internal System");

I. Main Structures of the University's Internal System within the Meaning of Article 17, Section 3 of the Regulation on the Internal System of the University

In the field of study programmes and habilitation and inauguration procedures, the Rector of the University exercises the powers in ensuring and evaluating the quality of higher education in accordance with the Higher Education Act and other general statutes. |
In accordance with Article 19 of the Regulation on the internal system of the University, the Vice-Rectors of the University coordinate the activities of the University and parts thereof related to the internal system of the University within their scope of powers and, on the basis of the Regulation on the internal system of the University, systematically ensure the implementation of the internal system of the University. In the field of study programmes and habilitation and inauguration procedures, the relevant Vice-Rectors of the University exercise powers as specified by the Higher Education Act and other general statutes in ensuring and evaluating the quality of university education. The Vice-Rectors at the same time coordinate the activities of the University and parts thereof within the scope of their powers related to quality assurance of university education in study programmes and fields of habilitation and inauguration procedures on the basis of regulations on study programmes and habilitation and inauguration procedures. |
The Board for Internal Quality Assessment is, pursuant to Article 20 of the Regulation on the internal system of the University, a permanent academic body of the University, which is, in accordance with the standards of quality of education, an independent structure of the internal system of the University with the powers and responsibilities established by the statute of the Board in the field of binding standards and quality standards of education. The Internal Quality Assessment Board monitor and evaluate the internal system of the University, The Internal Quality Assessment Board shall approve:

THE UNIVERSITY´S QUALITY ASSURANCE ANALYSIS AND STRATEGIES UNIT |
The scope of powers of the University´s Quality Assurance Analysis and Strategies Unit in the field of quality assurance within the framework of quality assurance and internal evaluation at the University is regulated by the University Statute, the regulation on the internal system of the University and other internal regulations of the University. The University's Quality Assurance Analysis and Strategies Unit shall methodically manage the field of activity and development of the internal system of the University. |
II. The Structures of the Internal System of the University Shall Also be the Following Other Bodies and Persons:
A permanent advisory body of the Rector of the University, established pursuant to Article 14, Section 1, Item a) of the University Statute, is the Rector´s Gremium. Pursuant to Article 14, Section 2 of the University Statute, in addition to the Rector, there are also members of the Rector´s Gremium who are appointed and dismissed by the Rector, Vice-Rectors and the Bursar. The Rector may appoint/remove a member of the Rector´s Board as well as to temporarily so in relation to other persons who are significantly involved in the implementation of the University's objectives and mission. The staff composition of the Rector´s Gremium is as follows: the Rector of the University is a member and chair of the Rector´s Gremium and members thereof are Vice-Rectors of the University, the Bursar and the Director of the Rector´s Gremium. |
A permanent advisory body of the Rector of the University, established pursuant to Article 14, Section 1, ltem b) of the University Statute, is the Rector’s Collegium. Members of the Rector´s Advisory Board are, pursuant to Article 14, Section 5 of the Statute of the University, members of the Rector´s Gremium and deans. The staff composition of the Rector´s Advisory Board is as follows: the Rector of the University is a member and chair of the Rector's Collegium and members thereof are the Bursar of the University, Vice-Rectors of the University, deans of faculties, chairman of the Academic Senate of the University, comptroller of the University and director of the Rector´s Gremium. |
A permanent advisory body of the Rector of the University for quality assurance of education, The Rector of the University shall be a member and chair of the Deans ‘Commission, while members thereof shall the deans of all faculties of the University. |
The scope of powers of scientific councils of faculties in the field of quality assurance and internal evaluation of the University is regulated by the Higher Education Act, the Statute of the University and the internal regulations of the University and faculties thereof. |
The scope of powers of the Academic Senates of the faculties in the field of quality assurance and internal evaluation of the University is regulated by the Higher Education Act and other general statutes, the University Statute and other university regulations, faculty statutes and internal regulations thereof. |
BOARD OF THE SUBJECT OF HABILITATION AND INAUGURATION PROCEDURES |
According to Section 3 of the second part of the Regulation on habilitation and inauguration procedures, a group of five persons in charge of the development and quality assurance of the habilitation and inauguration procedures (hereinafter referred to as "HIP") constitutes the board of the habilitation and inauguration procedures (hereinafter referred to as "BSHIP"). The same is appointed and dismissed by the Dean of the Faculty. The BSHIP shall elect a Chair and a Vice-Chair from among members thereof. The scope of powers of the BSHIP in the field of quality assurance and internal evaluation of the HIP subjects is regulated by the Regulation on habilitation and inauguration procedures. Each post-graduate study programme shall have an Academic Discipline Board appointed which is an advisory body of the person in charge of the study programme. The position and scope of powers of Academic Discipline Board in the field of 3rd level study programmes are set out in Article 11 of the Regulation on study programmes. In particular, the Academic Discipline Board shall:
The Academic Discipline Board closely cooperates with the course commission in monitoring and evaluating post-graduate studies. The Academic Discipline Board shall at least have five members and shall be composed of:
The members of the Academic Discipline Board are appointed and dismissed by the Dean of the Faculty. The Chairperson of the Programme Board shall be the person in charge of the study programme. Related study programmes may have a joint Academic Discipline Board. The members of the Academic Discipline Board are appointed and dismissed by the Dean of the Faculty. |
For each Bachelor's or Master's study programme, a Programme Board is appointed which is the advisory body of the person in charge of the study programme. The status and scope of powers the programme boards are set out in Article 11 of the Regulation on study programmes. The Programme Board shall in particular:

The members of the Academic Discipline Board are appointed and dismissed by the Dean of the Faculty. The Chairperson of the Programme Board shall be the person in charge of the study programme. Follow-up study programmes or related study programmes may have a joint programme board. The members of the Academic Discipline Board are appointed and dismissed by the Dean of the Faculty. |
According to Section1 of Article 4 of the standards for habilitation and inauguration procedures, human resources for the given subject of habilitation and inauguration procedures are provided by a group of five persons who are in charge of the development and quality assurance of the subject of habilitation and inauguration procedures. According to Section 3 of the second part of the Regulation on habilitation and inauguration procedures, a group of five persons in charge of the development and quality assurance of the subject of habilitation and inauguration procedures (hereinafter referred to as "HIP") constitutes the board of the subject of habilitation and inauguration procedures (hereinafter referred to as "BSHIP"). The same is appointed and dismissed by the Dean of the Faculty. In the field of quality assurance and evaluation of university education The staffing of the fields of habilitation and inauguration procedures including the required minimum criteria, is further specified in the second part of the university regulation on habilitation and inauguration procedures. |
The status, scope and duties of persons in charge of the study programme are set out in Article 11 of the Regulation on study programmes. The Dean of the Faculty shall appoint a person in charge of a study programme. The person in charge of the study programme shall have primary responsibility for the implementation, development and quality assurance of the study programme. He/she shall be responsible for the quality of the content of the study programme and implementation thereof. He/she shall at the same time evaluate the study programme and develop the same as well. At the same time, he / she provides one of the profile study courses. His / her expertise and name shall essentially guarantee the quality and proper implementation of the study programme. The person in charge of the study programme shall, as part of the quality assurance processes of the study programme,
The proposal of the Dean of the Faculty for the appointment and dismissal of the person in charge of the study programme shall be approved by the Faculty's Scientific Council. The person in charge of the study programme shall bear responsibility for the implementation, the quality and development thereof to the Dean of the Faculty. |
The status, scope and obligations of persons providing a profile study course are set out in Article 11 of the Regulation on study programmes. Person providing a profile study course shall as part of quality assurance processes
The person providing a profile study course shall at the request of the person in charge of the study program be appointed by the Dean of the Faculty. |
There should be a person providing each course of study which constitutes a part of the study programme. The status, scope of powers and obligations of persons providing study courses are set out in Article 11 of the Regulation on study programmes. The person providing a profile study course shall be responsible for the professional level of that study course, the quality of his/her teaching content as well as for development thereof. The person providing a study course shall as part of quality assurance processes,
The person providing the study course shall, as agreed with the person responsible for the study programme, be appointed by the head of the unit that the study course is taught at. He/she shall be selected from among persons who are sufficiently involved in the teaching of the study course. |

Note Pursuant to Article 27, Section (48) of Methodology for the evaluation of Slovak Accreditation Agency for Higher Education ‘Stakeholders are actors of a university, persons, communities or organisations that may influence or be influenced by the learning process, creative and other related activities. A distinction is made between internal stakeholders (students and staff of the university) and external stakeholders (employers and other representatives of relevant sectors of the economy and social practice, university graduates, domestic and foreign partners of the University, etc.)'.
