Powers and Responsibilities

The following section provides an overview of the main powers of the individual structures of the Internal Quality Assurance System of the Trnava University (hereinafter referred to as the "structures of the internal system of the University") in the areas of quality assurance and evaluation of university education at the Trnava University.

The powers of individual structures of the university's internal system are regulated by:

  • The Act No. 131/2002 Coll. on Higher Education Amending Certain Acts as amended (hereinafter referred to as the "the Higher Education Act");
  • The Act No. 269/2018 Coll. on Quality Assurance in University Education Amending the Act No. 343/2015 Coll. on Public Procurement Amending Certain Acts as amended (hereinafter referred to as the "Quality Assurance Act");
  • Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European University Education Area (hereinafter referred to as the 'European standards');
  • Standards for the internal system of quality assurance of university education adopted by the Slovak Accreditation Agency for Higher Education (hereinafter referred to as the "Internal System Standards")
  • Standards for the Study Programme developed by the Slovak Accreditation Agency for Higher Education (hereinafter referred to as "Standards for the Study Programme");
  • Standards for habilitation procedures and procedure for the appointment of Professors adopted by the Slovak Accreditation Agency for Higher Education (hereinafter referred to as "standards for habilitation and inauguration procedures") as well as
  • internal regulations of the Trnava University, in particular
    • Internal Regulation within the meaning of Article 15, Section 1 (b) of the Act on Higher Education entitled Internal Quality Assurance System of the Trnava University (hereinafter referred to as the "Regulation on the University's Internal System");
    • Internal Regulation within the meaning of Article 15, Section 1 (b) of the Act on Higher Education: "Rules for Creation, Modification, Approval and Evaluation of the Quality of Study Programmes at the Trnava University (hereinafter referred to as the "Study Programmes Regulation")
    • Internal Regulation within the meaning of Article 15, Section 1 (b) of the Act on Higher Education: Directive 1/2022 by the Rector of the Trnava University on Habilitation and Inauguration Procedures (hereinafter referred to as the "Regulation on habilitation and inauguration procedures"),
    • internal regulation "Quality Assurance Indicators at the Trnava University " (hereinafter only referred to as the "the indicative indicators regulation")
    • The Statute of the Internal Quality Assessment Board of the University (hereinafter referred to as the 'Statute of the Board'), and
    • Rules of Procedure of the Internal Quality Assessment Board of the University (hereinafter only referred to as the "the Board Rules of Procedure").

I. Main structures of the University's internal system within the meaning of Article 17, Section 3 of the regulation on the internal system of the University

II. The structures of the internal system of the University shall also be the following other bodies and persons:

III. The structures of the internal system of the University shall further be understood as stakeholders within the meaning of Article 27,  Section 48 of Methodology for the evaluation of Slovak Accreditation Agency for Higher Education standards:

(b)  EXTERNAL STAKEHOLDERS

 

I. Main Structures of the University's Internal System within the Meaning of Article 17, Section 3 of the Regulation on the Internal System of the University

RECTOR

In accordance with the Higher Education Act, the Quality Assurance Act, the education quality
standards, the University Statute and the Statute of the Internal Quality Assessment Board of the Trnava University (hereinafter referred to as the "Internal Quality Board"), the Rector of the University shall pursuant to Article 3 of the Regulation on the internal system of the University

  • be responsible for the creation and functioning of the university's internal system,
  • ensure compliance of the internal regulations and governing acts of the University with the internal system of the University,
  • determine the scope and responsibilities of the university's internal system structures,
  • as well as appoint and dismiss the members and officers of the Internal Evaluation Board and entrust them with coordinating the activities of the Board in the areas of the internal system of the University.

In the field of study programmes and habilitation and inauguration procedures, the Rector of the University exercises the powers in ensuring and evaluating the quality of higher education in accordance with the Higher Education  Act and other general statutes.

VICE-RECTORS

In accordance with Article 19 of the Regulation on the internal system of the University, the Vice-Rectors of the University coordinate the activities of the University and parts thereof related to the internal system of the University within their scope of powers and, on the basis of the Regulation on the internal system of the University, systematically ensure the implementation of the internal system of the University.

In the field of study programmes and habilitation and inauguration procedures, the relevant Vice-Rectors of the University exercise powers as specified by the Higher Education Act and other general statutes in ensuring and evaluating the quality of university education. The Vice-Rectors at the same time coordinate the activities of the University and parts thereof within the scope of their powers related to quality assurance of university education in study programmes and fields of habilitation and inauguration procedures on the basis of regulations on study programmes and habilitation and inauguration procedures.

THE INTERNAL QUALITY ASSESMENT BOARD

The Board for Internal Quality Assessment is, pursuant to Article 20 of the Regulation on the internal system of the University, a permanent academic body of the University, which is, in accordance with the standards of quality of education, an independent structure of the internal system of the University with the powers and responsibilities established by the statute of the Board in the field of binding standards and quality standards of education.

The Internal Quality Assessment Board monitor and evaluate the internal system of the University,
study programmes thereof, habilitation and inauguration procedures and related activities in relation to the compliance thereof with the Higher Education Act, the Quality Assurance Act and other general statutes , educational quality standards, European standards as well as the University Statute and the long-term intention thereof.

The Internal Quality Assessment Board shall approve:

  • the University's application for a decision of the Slovak Accreditation Agency for Higher Education on the compliance of the University's internal system with the standards for the internal system and also ensure internal evaluation and receive internal evaluation reports regarding the creation, functionality, implementation and use of the University's internal system and compliance thereof with the standards for the quality of education,
  • proposals concerning study programmes, habilitation procedure and inauguration
    procedure before the same are submitted to the Slovak Accreditation Agency for Higher Education by the Rector of the University,
  • proposals concerning study programmes prior to the decision of the Rector of the University, if the restrictions on the creation, implementation and modification thereof in individual fields and degrees of study have been lifted on the basis of a decision of the Slovak Accreditation Agency for Higher Education on the compliance of the internal system of the University with the standards for the internal system

Prior to discussion in the Academic
Senate of the University and before approval by the Scientific Board of the University the Internal Quality Assessment Board shall discuss:

  • the internal regulation of the University regulating the internal system of quality assurance of
    university education as well as any amendments thereto,
  • the internal regulation of the University regulating the rules for the creation, modification, approval and
    evaluation of the quality of the University's study programmes, habilitation and inauguration procedures as well as any amendments thereto.

The following shall be applied in the establishment of the internal quality assessment board:

  • in the human resources area, the principle of involving stakeholders as university players; and
  • the principle of ensuring independent, unbiased, objective and professional assessment and evaluation, as well as the drafting and approval of all resolutions adopted in the areas of creation and implementation of the university's internal system; the creation, modification, modification and cancellation of study programmes and the fulfilment of criteria related to habilitation and inauguration procedures.

The details on the internal quality assessment board shall be laid down in the Statute of the Board and in the Rules of Procedure thereof.

THE SCIENTIFIC COUNCIL OF THE UNIVERSITY

The scope of powers of the Scientific Council of the University in the field of ensuring and internal evaluation of the quality of the University shall be regulated by the Act on Higher Education, the Statute of the University and the regulation on the internal system of the University. (Article 3 of the Regulation on the internal system of the University

ACADEMIC SENATE OF THE UNIVERSITY

The scope of powers of the Academic Senate of the University in the field of quality assurance and internal evaluation of the University is regulated by the Higher Education Act, the Statute of the University and the Regulation on the internal system of the University. THE MANAGEMENT BOARD OF THE UNIVERSITY

The scope of powers of the University's Management Board in the field of quality assurance and internal evaluation of the University are regulated by the Higher Education Act, the University Statute and the Regulation on the internal system of the University. (Article 3 of the Regulation on the internal system of the University

FACULTY DEANS

The Dean of the Faculty pursuant to Article 3 of the Regulation on the internal system of the University

  • shall be responsible for the creation and functionality of the internal system at the faculty,
  • to the extent specified by the regulations on the internal system of the University, it shall issue internal regulations of the Faculty regulating ensuring the functionality of the internal system,
  • in accordance with the statute of the Board for Internal Quality Assessment of the Trnava University, propose candidates members of the Board to the Rector of the University
  • initiate amendments to the internal system of the University and submit the same to the Rector,
  • continuously evaluate the activities of Vice-Deans and executives of the Faculty in the field of quality assurance and internal quality evaluation,
  • determine the responsibilities of individual Vice-Deans as well as those of other employees for
    the coordination of activities within the internal system at the faculty.

In the field of quality assurance and internal evaluation of university education in study programmes and the fields of habilitation and inauguration procedures, Faculty Deans exercise their scope of powers in accordance with the Higher Education Act and other general statutes.

The Dean of the Faculty pursuant to the regulations on study programmes, in particular:

  • submits a draft study programme for discussion to the Academic Senate of the Faculty,
  • appoint and dismiss members of the Board of the habilitation and inauguration procedures, members of the Academic Discipline Board, members of the programme board,
  • and designates persons providing profile study courses at the request of the person in charge of the study programme.

THE BURSAR AND OTHER SENIOR STAFF WITHIN THE MEANING OF THE ARTICLE 10 OF THE STATUTE OF THE UNIVERSITY

The scope of powers of the Bursar and other senior staff of the University in the field of quality assurance and internal evaluation at the University is regulated by the Higher Education Act and other general statutes, the University Statute and other internal regulations of the University and the Regulation on the internal system of the University.

THE UNIVERSITY´S QUALITY ASSURANCE ANALYSIS AND STRATEGIES UNIT

The scope of powers of the University´s Quality Assurance Analysis and Strategies Unit in the field of quality assurance within the framework of quality assurance and internal evaluation at the University is regulated by the University Statute, the regulation on the internal system of the University and other internal regulations of the University.

The University's Quality Assurance Analysis and Strategies Unit shall methodically manage the field of activity and development of the internal system of the University.

II. The Structures of the Internal System of the University Shall Also be the Following Other Bodies and Persons:

RECTOR´S GREMIUM

A permanent advisory body of the Rector of the University, established pursuant to Article 14, Section 1, Item a) of the University Statute, is the Rector´s Gremium.

Pursuant to Article 14, Section 2 of the University Statute, in addition to the Rector, there are also members of the Rector´s Gremium who are appointed and dismissed by the Rector, Vice-Rectors and the Bursar. The Rector may appoint/remove a member of the Rector´s Board as well as to temporarily so in relation to other persons who are significantly involved in the implementation of the University's objectives and mission.

The staff composition of the Rector´s Gremium is as follows: the Rector of the University is a member and chair of the Rector´s Gremium and members thereof are Vice-Rectors of the University, the Bursar and the Director of the Rector´s Gremium.

RECTOR´S ADVISORY BOARD

A permanent advisory body of the Rector of the University, established pursuant to Article 14, Section 1, ltem b) of the University Statute, is the Rector’s Collegium. Members of the Rector´s Advisory Board are, pursuant to Article 14, Section 5 of the Statute of the University, members of the Rector´s Gremium and deans.

The staff composition of the Rector´s Advisory Board  is as follows: the Rector of the University is a member and chair of the Rector's Collegium and members thereof are the Bursar of the University, Vice-Rectors of the University, deans of faculties, chairman of the Academic Senate of the University, comptroller of the University and director of the Rector´s Gremium.

DEAN´S COMMISSION

A permanent advisory body of the Rector of the University for quality assurance of education,
creative activities and related activities of the University
established pursuant to Article 14, Section 1,
Item d) of the University Statute is the Dean´s Commission.

The Rector of the University shall be a member and chair of the Deans ‘Commission, while members thereof shall the deans of all faculties of the University.

FACULTY SCIENTIFIC COUNCILS

The scope of powers of scientific councils of faculties in the field of quality assurance and internal evaluation of the University is regulated by the Higher Education  Act, the Statute of the University and the internal regulations of the University and faculties thereof.

FACULTY ACADEMIC SENATES

The scope of powers of the Academic Senates of the faculties in the field of quality assurance and internal evaluation of the University is regulated by the Higher Education  Act and other general statutes, the University Statute and other university regulations, faculty statutes and internal regulations thereof.

BOARD OF THE SUBJECT OF HABILITATION AND INAUGURATION PROCEDURES

According to Section 3 of the second part of the Regulation on habilitation and inauguration procedures, a group of five persons in charge of the development and quality assurance of the habilitation and inauguration procedures (hereinafter referred to as "HIP") constitutes the board of the habilitation and inauguration procedures (hereinafter referred to as "BSHIP"). The same is appointed and dismissed by the Dean of the Faculty. The BSHIP shall elect a Chair and a Vice-Chair from among members thereof.

The scope of powers of the BSHIP in the field of quality assurance and internal evaluation of the HIP subjects is regulated by the Regulation on habilitation and inauguration procedures.

The main responsibilities thereof include:

  • responsibility for the development and quality assurance of HIP subjects,
  • preparing an application for accreditation of a new subject of HIP which includes a report on compliance with the standards and criteria of the relevant subject of HIP submitted for discussion and approval to the scientific board of the relevant faculty and to the internal quality assessment board by the faculty dean after approval thereof  by the faculty scientific board.

ACADEMIC DISCIPLINE BOARD

Each post-graduate study programme shall have an Academic Discipline Board appointed which is an advisory body of the person in charge of the study programme.

The position and scope of powers of Academic Discipline Board in the field of 3rd level study programmes are set out in Article 11 of the Regulation on study programmes.

In particular, the Academic Discipline Board shall:

  • continuously monitor and regularly evaluate teaching in the relevant study programme,
  • assess the contents of the study programme and evaluate professional level thereof,
  • annually ensure the study programme evaluation process,
  • discuss the intention to modify the study programme, to extend the authorization to carry out the study programme as well as to cancel the study programme at the initiative of the faculty,
  • approves the topics of dissertations,
  • hear internal evaluation reports.

The Academic Discipline Board closely cooperates with the course commission in monitoring and evaluating post-graduate studies.

The Academic Discipline Board shall at least have five members and shall be composed of:

  • the person in charge of the study programme,
  • at least one other teacher providing instruction in the relevant study programme,
  • at least one employers´ representative not a member of the academic community of the University
  • at least two domestic or foreign faculty partners.

The members of the Academic Discipline Board are appointed and dismissed by the Dean of the Faculty. The Chairperson of the Programme Board shall be the person in charge of the study programme.

Related study programmes may have a joint Academic Discipline Board. The members of the Academic Discipline Board are appointed and dismissed by the Dean of the Faculty.

PROGRAMME BOARDS

For each Bachelor's or Master's study programme, a Programme Board is appointed which is the advisory body of the person in charge of the study programme.

The status and scope of powers the programme boards are set out in Article 11 of the Regulation on study programmes.

The Programme Board shall in particular:

  • continuously monitor and regularly evaluate teaching in the relevant study programme,
  • assess the contents of the study programme and evaluate professional level thereof,
  • annually ensure the study programme evaluation process,
  • discuss the intention to modify the study programme, to extend the authorization to carry out the study programme as well as to cancel the study programme at the initiative of the faculty,
  • hear internal evaluation reports.

The Programme Board shall have at least five members and shall be composed of:

  • the person in charge of the study programme,
  • at least two other teachers providing instruction in the relevant study programme, (c) at least one representative of the students of the relevant study programme,
  • at least one employer's representative not a member of the academic community of the University.

The members of the Academic Discipline Board are appointed and dismissed by the Dean of the Faculty. The Chairperson of the Programme Board shall be the person in charge of the study programme.

Follow-up study programmes or related study programmes may have a joint programme board. The members of the Academic Discipline Board are appointed and dismissed by the Dean of the Faculty.

PERSONS IN CHARGE OF THE DEVELOPMENT AND QUALITY ASSURANCE OF THE SUBJECTS OF HABILITATION AND INAUGURATION PROCEDURES

According to Section1 of Article 4 of the standards for habilitation and inauguration procedures, human resources for the given subject of habilitation and inauguration procedures are provided by a group of five persons who are in charge of the development and quality assurance of the subject of habilitation and inauguration procedures.

According to Section 3 of the second part of the Regulation on habilitation and inauguration procedures, a group of five persons in charge of the development and quality assurance of the subject of habilitation and inauguration procedures (hereinafter referred to as "HIP") constitutes the board of the subject of habilitation and inauguration procedures (hereinafter referred to as "BSHIP"). The same is appointed and dismissed by the Dean of the Faculty.  

In the field of quality assurance and evaluation of university education
concerning habilitation and inauguration procedures, the persons in charge of the development and quality assurance thereof shall exercise their powers in accordance with the Higher Education Act and other general statutes.

The staffing of the fields of habilitation and inauguration procedures including the required minimum criteria, is further specified in the second part of the university regulation on habilitation and inauguration procedures.

PERSONS IN CHARGE OF STUDY PROGRAMMES

The status, scope and duties of persons in charge of the study programme are set out in Article 11 of the Regulation on study programmes.

The Dean of the Faculty shall appoint a person in charge of a study programme.

The person in charge of the study programme shall have primary responsibility for the implementation, development and quality assurance of the study programme. He/she shall be responsible for the quality of the content of the study programme and implementation thereof. He/she shall at the same time evaluate the study programme and develop the same as well. At the same time, he / she provides one of the profile study courses. His / her expertise and name shall essentially guarantee the quality and proper implementation of the study programme.

The person in charge of the study programme shall, as part of the quality assurance processes of the study programme,

  • be responsible for the preparation of documents necessary to obtain the authorization to carry out the study programme or to obtain consent to modification or extension thereof in the prescribed structure,
  • be responsible for the content of the study programme and for creation thereof in accordance with the current level of scientific knowledge and applicable quality standards of education,
  • be responsible for the ongoing monitoring and regular evaluation of the study programme,
  • be responsible for the quality of processing of documents of the internal evaluation process of the study programme and for meeting the objectives resulting from the study programme development plan,
  • keep abreast of developments in his/her field and in the field of education; he / she shall ensure that the latest knowledge is used to improve the content and the way of teaching;
  • initiate changes in the implementation of the curriculum aimed at improving quality of the contents and teaching methods of the curriculum and ensure the strategic development of the curriculum in order to ensure that the learning outcomes be in line with the needs of students, employers and other stakeholders and that the same correspond to the current knowledge and current state of exploitation thereof as well,
  • be responsible for the content of the entrance examinations for the study programme,
  • continuously coordinate, in cooperation with persons providing study courses, the teaching and content of study courses so that learning outcomes be achieved and the graduate profile be fulfilled,
  • ensure that, in each academic year, students are offered compulsory and elective courses of the appropriate quality for enrolment as well as an adequate offer of selection courses,
  • be entitled to verify the quality of the teaching implemented of all study courses of the study programme and to express himself/herself of the results of those evaluations,
  • approve the topics of bachelor's and diploma theses upon the proposal of persons providing individual study courses,
  • be responsible for maintaining documentation related to the given study programme, including entering information into the University's information system and publishing the information specified on the University's website,
  • consult and coordinate his/her activities with the Dean of the Faculty and Vice-Deans of the Faculty,
  • upon request, report to the Rector of the University, the Dean of the Faculty or other bodies of the University or the Faculty on the status, evaluation and prospects of study in the study programme provided on his/her part,
  • immediately inform the Dean of the Faculty on any shortcomings in the implementation of the study programme which result in the study programme not meeting or possible not meeting in the near future, the standards on the basis of which the same was accredited,
  • implement the measures that were, as part of evaluation thereof, intended to improve the study programme,
  • cooperate in the performance of his/her duties closely with the heads of the units where the teaching takes place,
  • express himself/herself of the initiatives, questions, requests and complaints relating to the study programme.

The proposal of the Dean of the Faculty for the appointment and dismissal of the person in charge of the study programme shall be approved by the Faculty's Scientific Council.

The person in charge of the study programme shall bear responsibility for the implementation, the quality and development thereof to the Dean of the Faculty.

PERSONS PROVIDING PROFILE STUDY COURSES

The status, scope and obligations of persons providing a profile study course are set out in Article 11 of the Regulation on study programmes.

Person providing a profile study course shall as part of quality assurance processes

  • be responsible for the content of that study course,
  • define the characteristics of the course of study in the information leaflet on the course of study set out in the Decree on the credit system of study, ensure publication thereof on the website of the University as well as continuous updating of the same,
  • cooperate closely with the person in charge of the study programmes as well as with other persons providing study courses of the study programme, in particular with regard to the continuity and interconnection of individual study courses,
  • prior to the beginning of teaching coordinate, the activities of individual teachers of the course, in particular in terms of teaching methods and requirements for students and provides them with methodological guidance throughout the term,
  • continuously monitor and regularly evaluate the content and method of teaching the course of study,
  • verify the quality of the teaching of the study course implemented,
  • give lectures and implement other core educational activities of the study course,
  • keep abreast of developments in his/her field as well as in the field of education; he/she shall ensure that the latest knowledge be used to improve the contents and the way of teaching;
  • express himself / herself of the initiatives, questions and requests relating to the course of study.

The person providing a profile study course shall at the request of the person in charge of the study program be appointed by the Dean of the Faculty.

PERSONS PROVIDING STUDY COURSES

There should be a person providing each course of study which constitutes a part of the study programme.

The status, scope of powers and obligations of persons providing study courses are set out in Article 11 of the Regulation on study programmes.

The person providing a profile study course shall be responsible for the professional level of that study course, the quality of his/her teaching content as well as for development thereof.

The person providing a study course shall as part of quality assurance processes,

  • be responsible for the content of that study course,
  • define the characteristics of the course of study in the information leaflet on the course of study set out in the Decree on the credit system of study, ensure publication thereof on the website of the University as well as continuous updating of the same,
  • cooperate closely with the person in charge of the study programmes as well as with other persons providing study courses of the study programme, in particular with regard to the continuity and interconnection of individual study courses,
  • prior to the beginning of teaching coordinate, the activities of individual teachers of the course, in particular in terms of teaching methods and requirements for students and provides them with methodological guidance throughout the term,
  • continuously monitor and regularly evaluate the content and method of teaching the course of study,
  • verify the quality of the teaching of the study course implemented,
  • give lectures and implement other core educational activities of the study course,
  • keep abreast of developments in his/her field as well as in the field of education; he/she shall ensure that the latest knowledge be used to improve the contents and the way of teaching;
  • express himself / herself of the initiatives, questions and requests relating to the course of study.

The person providing the study course shall, as agreed with the person responsible for the study programme, be appointed by the head of the unit that the study course is taught at. He/she shall be selected from among persons who are sufficiently involved in the teaching of the study course.

III. The Structures of the Internal System of the University Shall Further be Understood as Stakeholders Within the Meaning of Article 27, Section 48 of Methodology for the Standards Evaluation of Slovak Accreditation Agency for Higher Education:

(a)  INTERNAL STAKEHOLDERS

HEADS OF THE UNIVERSITY'S UNITS

The position and scope of powers of the heads of the University's departments in terms of their involvement in the processes and structures of the University's internal system includes in particular:

  • the exercise of a management function within the scope of his/her scope of powers and competences,
  • supervising the compliance of the implementation of activities in the field of their powers with the general statutes and internal regulations of the University,
  • appointment of persons providing study programmes as agreed with the person responsible for the study programme (stipulated under the regulation on study programmes, Article 9, Section 4),
  • providing cooperation in the preparation of documents for the evaluation reports of the University, in particular the internal evaluation report on the implementation of the internal system to the Department for Analyses and Strategies in the field of quality assurance (provided under the regulation on the internal system of the University, Article 15, Section 3).

UNIVERSITY STAFF – UNIVERSITY TEACHERS, RESEARCHERS AND OTHER STAFF INCLUDING ADMINISTRATIVE AND TECHNICAL STAFF

The position and scope of powers of university staff in terms of involvement thereof in the processes and structures of the university's internal system in particular includes:

  • performance of work activities in the area of powers and competences thereof according to job descriptions in employment contracts as well as according to the internal regulations of the University and faculties (persons in charge of study programmes, persons in charge of the provision of profile courses, persons in charge of the provision and development of habilitation and inauguration procedures, ...),
  • representation on the Board for Internal Quality Assessment (stipulated under the Statute of the Board, Article 8, Section 3) and the resulting scope of powers of a member of the internal quality assessment board:
    • the scope of powers of the internal quality assessment board is set out in the Statute of the board, Article 5.;
    • the scope of powers, rights and duties of the members of the Board, Chairman, Vice-Chairmen thereof, the presidium and the Secretary are regulated by Article 6 of the Board's Rules of Procedure,
  • evaluation of employee satisfaction through employee satisfaction questionnaire survey

COORDINATORS FOR STUDENTS WITH SPECIFIC NEEDS

The position and responsibilities of coordinators of students with specific needs in terms of their involvement in the processes and structures of the internal system of the University in particular include:

  • performance of a function in the field of their powers and authorizations according to the job descriptions in employment contracts,
  • representation on the Board for Internal Quality Assessment (stipulated under the Statute of the Board, Article 8, Section 3 – as employees' representatives) and the resulting scope of powers of a member of the internal quality assessment board:
    • the scope of powers of the internal quality assessment board is set out in the Statute of the board, Article 5.;
    • the scope of powers, rights and duties of the members of the Board, Chairman, Vice-Chairmen thereof, the presidium and the Secretary are regulated by Article 6 of the Board's Rules of Procedure,
  • evaluation of employee satisfaction through employee satisfaction questionnaire survey

STUDENTS

The position and scope of students in terms of their involvement in the processes and structures of the internal system of the University in particular includes:

  • compliance with the internal regulations of the University (compliance of the study with the general statutes and internal regulations of the University),
  • representation on the Board for Internal Quality Assessment (stipulated under the Statute of the Board, Article 8, Section 3) and the resulting scope of powers of a member of the internal quality assessment board:

    • the scope of powers of the internal quality assessment board is set out in the Statute of the board, Article 5.;
    • the scope of powers, rights and duties of the members of the Board, Chairman, Vice-Chairmen thereof, the presidium and the Secretary are regulated by Article 6 of the Board's Rules of Procedure,
  • questionnaire measurements of student satisfaction : course survey - summer term, course survey - winter term, Satisfaction with the quality of teaching and material, technical equipment and information .

STAKEHOLDERS INVOLVED IN TEACHING, RESEARCH, CONTRACTED UNITS FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF STUDENT INTERNSHIPS AND EMPLOYERS' REPRESENTATIVES

The position and scope of powers of stakeholders involved in teaching, research, contracted units for the implementation of student internships, representatives of employers in terms of their involvement in the processes and structures of the university's internal system in particular includes:

  • implementation of policies for quality assurance of university education,
    in the implementation of activities resulting from contractual relations with the university,
  • representation on the Board for Internal Quality Assessment (stipulated under the Statute of the Board, Article 8, Section 3) and the resulting scope of powers of a member of the internal quality assessment board:
    • the scope of powers of the internal quality assessment board is set out in the Statute of the board, Article 5.;
    • the scope of powers , rights and duties of the members of the Board, Chairman, Vice-Chairmen thereof, the presidium and the Secretary are regulated by Article 6 of the Board's Rules of Procedure,

GRADUATES

The position and scope of powers of graduates in terms of their involvement in the processes and structures of the internal system of the University in particular includes:

  • application of the values and acquired university education, the principles of quality culture after graduation from the University and dissemination of the reputation of the institution,
  • representation on the Board for Internal Quality Assessment (stipulated under the Statute of the Board, Article 8, Section 3) and the resulting scope of powers of a member of the internal quality assessment board:

    • the scope of powers of the internal quality assessment board is set out in the Statute of the board, Article 5.;
    • the scope of powers, rights and duties of the members of the Board, Chairman, Vice-Chairmen thereof, the presidium and the Secretary are regulated by Article 6 of the Board's Rules of Procedure,
  • evaluation of rate of graduates who found jobs in practice and graduates with jobs in practice two years after graduation through questionnaire surveys.

DOMESTIC AND FOREIGN PARTNERS

The position and scope of powers of domestic and foreign partners in terms of their
involvement in the processes and structures of the university's internal system in particular includes :

  • representation of domestic and foreign partners in the internal quality assessment board (the statute of the board, Article 8, Section 3) and the resulting scope of powers of a member of the internal quality assessment board carried out pursuant to Article 6 of the Board's Rules of Procedure,

the scope of powers of the internal quality assessment board is set out in the Statute of the Board, Article 5 and includes:

- monitoring and evaluating the internal system of the University, study programmes, habilitation and inauguration procedures and related activities thereof in relation to compliance thereof with the Higher Education Act, the Quality Assurance Act and other general statutes, educational quality standards, European standards as well as the Statute of the University and long-term intention thereof (Statute of the Board, Article 5, Section 1),

- approval (Statute of the Board, Article 5, Section 2

  1. of the University's application for a decision of the Slovak Accreditation Agency for Higher Education on the compliance of the University's internal system with the standards for the internal system and ensuring internal evaluation and receiving internal evaluation reports regarding the creation, functionality, implementation and use of the University's internal system and compliance thereof with the standards for the quality of education;
  2. proposals concerning study programmes and habilitation procedures and inauguration procedures before submission thereof to the Slovak Accreditation Agency for Higher Education by the Rector of the University;
  3. proposals concerning study programmes prior to the decision of the Rector of the University, if the restrictions on the creation, implementation and modification thereof in individual fields and degrees of study have been lifted on the basis of a decision of the Slovak Accreditation Agency for Higher Education on the compliance of the internal system of the University with the standards for the internal system

- deliberation before deliberation in the Academic Senate of the University and before approval in the Scientific Council of the University (Statute of the Council, Article 5, Section 3):

  1. the internal regulation of the University governing the internal system of quality assurance of university education as well as any amendments thereto,
  2. the internal regulation of the University regulating the rules for the creation, modification, approval and evaluation of the quality of the University's study programmes and habilitation and inauguration proceedings, as well as its amendments.
