Rector's Address

Who we are and who we want to be

We are a medium-sized humanities-oriented university. Our roots date back to the historic Trnava University, established in 1635, and run by the Jesuits.

We aim to become an excellent educational and research institution in a globalized world. We support the culture of dialogue in a pluralistic society, defend the dignity of every human person, and reject manifestations of extremism.

At our university, we combine teaching with research in search of truth. Emphasizing intellectual freedom in research and teaching, university autonomy, and growing internationalization are key. By this, we try to contribute to forming a cultured, critical, and free-thinking person.

This is who we are and what we want to be.

prof. ThLic. Miloš Lichner, D.Th., SJ, Rector
