Setting of account security questions and answers

The most important advantage of self-serviced portal is the possibility of forgotten password recovery by the users themselves without the service intervention of CIS system department.  

This operation is available only to an authorized user; therefore the identity verification is necessary.  So-called security questions are used for this purpose. The function of password recovery is possible only if the user had set them beforehand.  Therefore, their setup is required by system automatically after the change of initialization password.   However, the questions/answers can be reset anytime after the logging into the portal. 

It is important to remember them (note down) because in case of forgetting them the self service password recovery via the portal is not possible. In that case service intervention will be necessary which is charged while the user must come in person to the CIS department.

Procedure:

1. Log into the portal.

2. Click on the option „Entering the account security questions“ in the main menu.

3. The following page will appear:

The set of the questions is configured in the following way:

Students have two questions defined by the system and one is defined by them. During the password recovery, for identity verification the date of birth is required (sequence of numbers without slash) and the answer to one of the security questions which is generated randomly.  Employees have one question defined by the system and two are defined by them. During the password recovery for identity verification the date of birth is required (sequence of numbers without slash) and the answer to two of the security questions which are generated randomly.

While entering the answers/questions black bullet points will appear. If you want to view entered texts, click on the „View“ button.

4. After entering required data click on the „Setting up the answers“ button.
