The Addressing Speech of the Dean of the Faculty of Health and Social Care
Dear colleagues and students, sincere friends,
As a newly elected dean, I would like to address you in a brief way.
Our faculty has an important place within the framework of social-scientific faculties in the Slovak Republic and is exposed to a number of tasks in this academic year.
The main focus is on remaining the significant ranking of the faculty in the areas of science and research, as well as keeping the existing study programmes besides creating new ones. We cannot forget the role of our projects in the Third World and their further development and improvement. Due to them the faculty is unique not only in Slovakia. We are looking forward to the international evaluation within the university process and the process of complex accreditation. And this is only part of our tasks.
As a follower of the idea that the university does not consist of buildings and facilities, but real people, e.g. students, teachers and other administrative officers, we are those who will influence how we are able to cope with the tasks together and complete them in such a way that we may be proud of our Alma Mater and always declare our support for it.
We have to create good working conditions not only for pedagogues and other employees of the faculty, but mostly good conditions for the students. The good conditions should be done for cultural and sports activities of our students. This is the only way how we should enter our school and building. The goal is not only to award our students a diploma, but to make them feel happy to return back later as our Ph.D. students, or in the role of former students, as well as newly recruited teachers and employees.
To complete all the tasks, we need not only God´s blessing, but also humility and a lot of love, because as St. Apostle Paul says, if we do not have love, we would be a humming metal and a ringing bell.
